Telehouse Breakfast on Broadway – Chelsea

On the morning of Thursday, March 10, friends, clients, and partners of TELEHOUSE gathered in our newest NYC data center facility, TELEHOUSE New York Chelsea, for an educational breakfast seminar. For many, this was their first time visiting TELEHOUSE’s top of the line facility.

The morning began with Lou Lazzaro, Vice President of Wireless at Time Warner Cable, presenting the audience with the latest innovations in mobile wireless connectivity. Lazzaro discussed all of the advantages of using Time Warner’s newest connectivity devices in relation to streamlining business efficiency and optimizing your time. Lazzaro also highlighted the new 4G network and the mobile trends approaching through 2011.

Our second speaker was Carmine Coletti, a Certified Business Continuity Planner from TAMP Systems. Carmine educated the audience on the importance of implementing some measure of Disaster Recovery Planning. The presentation focused on the impact of small and large scale disasters and the importance of speed efficiency during critical downtime.

While many companies do have continuity plans in place, far too few update and test their plans on a regular basis. Continuity planning is not a project with a beginning and an end; it must evolve overtime and change with the company. Mr. Coletti provided the audience with multiple real-life examples of companies that have been devastated by or flourished after a disaster.

The morning’s event concluded with personal tours of the facility, and some great discussions about all of the content presented by Carmine and Lou. We’d like to thank both speakers for their time and for sharing their knowledge with the TELEHOUSE staff and our guests!
