TELEHOUSE Acquires 60,000 Square Feet of Prime Data Center Real Estate in New York at 85 10th Avenue

TELEHOUSE America the United States’ leading provider of dedicated data centers, international Internet exchanges, and managed IT services, announced the acquisition and opening of 60,000 square feet of data center space at 85 10th Avenue in NYC, named TELEHOUSE New York “Chelsea.” This carrier neutral facility, opening on January 24, 2011, expands TELEHOUSE’s presence in the New York market, and as a subsidiary of KDDI Corporation, brings the company’s total global data center footprint to 39 facilities across 10 countries and territories. The acquisition of the “Chelsea” facility at 85 10th Avenue is in direct response to the growing demand for diverse carrier neutral, colocation space in Manhattan. This new, secure, state-of-the-art data center facility, located in the trendy Chelsea-Meat Packing District, is designed to exceed the demands of all company sizes, while providing proximity convenience to local businesses and access to New York City’s dense telecommunication network. The facility can accommodate up to 600 cabinets and has a 4.15 mVA power capacity.

In keeping with TELEHOUSE standards, the infrastructure provides a best-in-class power supply and distribution system along with redundant cooling. All subsystems are at a minimum N+1 configuration including diesel generators, Uninterruptible Power Supply systems, power distribution, chilled water supply, air conditioning, coupled with a state-of-the-art Building Management System designed to monitor all power and HVAC systems. In addition, customers continue to enjoy 24/7 access to their equipment and space along with first level support (remote hands) service through our Customer Assistance Center (CAC).
